Frequently Asked Questions
These questions cover how we work, what we service, and what you can expect when trusting a clock to our care.
What kinds of clocks do you repair?
We specialize in wall clocks, mantel clocks, cuckoo clocks, and quartz battery-operated clocks. These may be antique, vintage, or modern in style.
We do not repair grandfather clocks, 400-day/anniversary clocks, digital timekeepers, wristwatches, or pocket watches. This focus allows us to give each clock the time, care, and expertise it deserves.
How long does a typical repair take?
Turnaround time varies depending on the type of clock and the nature of the repair. Most projects are completed within a month. Once we’ve assessed your clock, we’ll provide a more specific estimate. Because every clock is evaluated individually, timelines reflect the clock’s condition and the care required—not a fixed schedule.
Do you explain the repairs that are performed on my clock?
Yes. We believe understanding your clock is an important part of responsible ownership. Whenever possible, we explain what work was performed, why it was necessary, and how it affects your clock’s operation and longevity. Our goal is not only to restore function, but to help you feel informed and confident in the care of your timepiece moving forward.
Do you offer estimates before starting work?
Yes. After evaluating your clock, we discuss the scope of work so you can make an informed decision before any repair begins.
Do you offer in-home service?
We do not perform repair work in home, full service must be performed at the shop. Proper clock repair requires tools, equipment, and controlled conditions that can’t be replicated during in-home visits. However, we do offer a pick up and delivery service for an additional fee if you are unable to drop off your clock or wish to have it professionally installed in home.
Can I send you a photo of my clock to see if you can repair it?
Yes—absolutely. If you're unsure what kind of clock you have, feel free to send a photo via our Contact page. We’re happy to let you know if it’s something we work on. You may also find our “Find My Clock” guide helpful for initial identification.
What if my clock needs parts replaced?
If your clock requires replacement parts, whenever possible we prioritize appropriate vintage or historically suitable replacements. In some cases, custom fitting may be necessary. We will always confirm this with you in advance.
Can you repair battery-operated clocks?
Yes, we do service quartz clocks, including movement replacements and battery terminal repairs if they are possible—We service quartz clocks when the case, design, or sentimental value warrants careful repair rather than pure replacement.
Do you sell clocks?
No, we are a repair-only service. We do not buy, sell, or appraise clocks. Our focus is exclusively on repair, preservation, and education.
How do I book a repair or ask a question?
